My name is Maria Carla Chan. I was born on June 1, 1990, so I just turned 20 years old. I went to Franklin High School, class of '08, where i met my best friend Rene Denise Hernandez! I am currently in my 3rd year at PCC and am looking forward to transfering out. My major is nursing and I can't wait to finish school and start working at a hospital helping patients. I sometimes volunteer at Kaiser Permanente Hospital on Sunset. Right now i currently work at Abercrombie and Fitch in Old Town Pasadena. This is my first and only job. What I like most about my job, is the discounts I get on their clothes! However, sometimes it sucks because when I get my paycheck, I almost always spend my money on their clothes, which leaves me broke.
I live with my mom, dad, sister, and brother. My family and I are very close. One thing we enjoy doing is going out to different restaurants over the weekend and trying different kinds of food. My family is from the Philippines, so we like to go to the Philippines at least once a year for vacation. When we go to the Philippines, we mostly visit family and go to the beaches. Everyday is a nice day to go to the beach at the Philippines because the weather is always nice. However, the weather in the city area, is very hot and humid, so we try to avoid walking around the city. My favorite time to go to the Philippines is during the Christmas season because everyone's houses and all the buildings are lit up with different kinds of Christmas lights. People there definately have high spirits during the Christmas season.
